GENERAL BILL by Government Operations Subcommittee, Tant; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Campbell
Candidate Qualification; Specifies that person seeking to qualify for office as candidate must be registered member of political party, or registered without party affiliation, for 365 consecutive days preceding beginning of qualifying for election; provides that compliance with specified requirements is mandatory; provides construction; authorizes qualified candidates or certain political parties to challenge compliance with specified provisions by filing suit in specified circuit court; prohibits person from being qualified as candidate for nomination or election & appearing on ballot.
